STORMERSí FIGHTING SPIRIT NOT
ENOUGH AGAINST SLICK JED-FOREST SIDE
SELKIRK Stormers travelled to take on Jed-Forest 2nds in a Borders Cup tie on Saturday. It was only the teamís
second match of 2012, and despite a couple of late call-offs, Stormers were able to field a full side against a

Chris Fairbairn and Jimmy Stevens hammered the Jed line without reward, then Derek McFadzen thought he had scored
but the referee ruled the ball had been held up.
Fifteen minutes into the second half hooker Scott Rodgerson sustained a cut eye and had to leave the field, being
replaced by Neill Wood. Gary Lyall then put in the tackle of the day to save a certain try.
Despite never letting their heads go down, short-handed Stormers found it hard to contain a lively Jed team, with
three more home tries seeing the Royal Blues home and dry.
Coach Neill Wood was pleased with the commitment shown by all the players, with special mentions going to Calvin
Henderson, Gary Lyall, Bob Wilkinson, and Rob and Richard Cook.
