STORMERS HIT COMEBACK TRAIL WITH
CONVINCING VOCTORY OVER LASSWADE 2nds
THE Stormers put their recent team-raising difficulties firmly behind them on Saturday to defeat Lasswade 2nds
41-15 in their RBS Reserve League East 1 match at Philphaugh.
2012 Royal Burgh Standard Bearer Gavin Henderson marked his return to rugby by scoring the home teamís first try,
converted by David Cassidy, and some excellent forward play and a good solid running game from the backline saw
Cassidy score two further unconverted tries, plus a further touchdown by winger Stuart Farrell.
Wing forward Rob Kelly had to retire after 30 minutes with a knee injury and was replaced by player/coach Donny
Cassidy converted the final try of the half by Bob Wilkinson, making the interval score 29-0 to Stormers.
The second half started much the same as the first with all the pressure going Stormersí way, with Cassidy scoring
a further two tries, one of which he converted.
In the final quarter Lasswade scored three tries, making the final score 41-15.
Special mention goes to Derek McFadzen for playing out of position at scrum-half, while Gavin Henderson and Colin
Heatlie put in a power of work in the second row. All-in-all a very successful day for Stormers Ė itís good to
