A YOUNG and very inexperienced Selkirk side had no answer to the threat posed by a big, powerful Edinburgh Accies 2nds team in Saturday’s RBS Reserve League National 1 fixture at Philiphaugh.

The visitors quickly set out their stall to run the ball at every opportunity, and their faith was repaid with a total of 10 tries during the 80 minutes - six in the first half (all converted) and four in the second (two converted).

Although Selkirk's players came more into the game after the interval, they simply couldnt get on the score sheet.

Once again young Scott McClymont showed up well for the home team, while another plus-point was the return to action of hooker Stuart Forrest after spells working in Dubai and South Africa.
