SELKIRK ‘A’ were beaten by a strong Hawick Harlequins
team In Saturday’s friendly fixture on the back pitch at Philiphaugh. Despite the young Selkirk side showing plenty
of promise, the Hawick visitors proved too street-wise for Robert Cook’s men.
Hawick’s first try came from Neil Douglas, who demonstrated his strength by powering over the line. The visitors
then scored two successive tries through Ross Lothian and Jordan Hislop.
Selkirk were never less than competitive, with some good moves in the backs and the forwards proving to be a handful.
Harlequins’ last try was scored by Finlay Robb, and was converted to make the final score 22-0 in the visitors’
