Selkirk hosted newly promoted Cartha Queens Park on a glorious autumn afternoon. The visitors had ran Jed - Forest close the previous weekend and were confident of giving a good account of themselves on their first visit to Philiphaugh for many years.
Selkirk started the game with a try by captain Ross Nixon after only three minutes, converted by stand off Banks. After some great play by the home pack Cartha infringed at a ruck allowing fly half Rory Banks to kick the three points.
With the visiting pack now in the ascendancy Cartha began to threaten the home line and on the half hour mark due to some bad defending by the home side Cartha scored two tries in the space of a minute. The first by scrum half McDougall closely followed by left winger Nyangweso, both converted by Burrows to give them the lead.
However their advantage was short lived as after a break by Clinton Wagman, Josh Welsh ran strongly to score near the posts the try being converted by Banks. The game was now seesawing from end to end and Cartha hit back with a penalty kick from Burrows.
Just on half time Wagman broke through four would be tacklers to score between the posts,Banks converted to finish the half with the home side in front

Selkirk were soon on the score board again this time Scott Hendrie was the scorer, again it was the hard running of Wagman and full back Stevie Hamilton who made the initial trust through the Cartha back line and last weeks scored Scott Hendrie was in close support to finnish the try ,again converted by Banks.
Selkirk were now on the front foot and Rory Banks kicked another penalty, when Cartha were caught offside.
To their credit Cartha were not lying down to the onslaught by Selkirk, their forwards took control of a lineout near the home line and drove over for a converted try.
However Selkirk were not to be denied and after some direct running by the home back line Rory Banks broke through the Cartha defence to score under the posts also adding the extras
Cartha finished the game by scoring their fourth try of the game giving them a bonus point, again from a line out on the home goal line.converted by Burrows .
