Saturday saw a 2nd against 3rd place clash at Philiphaugh with the visit of near neighbour Jed-Forest. As always Jed brought with them a good support, the atmosphere being enhanced by a full Clubhouse thanks to the Ettrick and Ashkirk Farmers Lunch.
In a hard fought game Jed came out on top scoring the bonus try on the stroke of full time which gave them the full 5 points from the game and harshly depriving the home side of a loosing bonus point.
Their forwards laid the foundations for the win, scoring the first try through a forward rush to the line allowing prop Forrali to score. This left the home support enraged due to a ‘flat ‘ pass which led to score.
Selkirk hit back firstly through a Rory Banks penalty kick after the Jed forwards were caught offside at a ruck. This was followed by a neat little grubber kick by Capt Ross Nixon allowing Josh Welsh win the race to score in the corner.
