Selkirk 15, Jedforest 24.
Saturday saw a 2nd against 3rd place clash at Philiphaugh
with the visit of near neighbour Jed-Forest. As always Jed brought with them a good support, the atmosphere being
enhanced by a full Clubhouse thanks to the Ettrick and Ashkirk Farmers Lunch.
In a hard fought game Jed came out on top scoring the bonus try on the stroke of full time which gave them the
full 5 points from the game and harshly depriving the home side of a loosing bonus point.
Their forwards laid the foundations for the win,scoring the first try through a forward rush to the line allowing
prop Forrali to score.This left the home support enraged due to a ‘flat ‘ pass which led to score.
Selkirk hit back firstly through a Rory Banks penalty kick after the Jed forwards were caught offside at a ruck.
This was followed by a neat little grubber kick by Capt Ross Nixon allowing Josh Welsh win the race to score in
Half time score Selkirk 8..Jed 5.
After the break Jed pulled out all the stops and scored a couple of quick tries through Mitchell and then Goodfellow
opening up a 9 point gap.
With ten minutes to go Selkirk upped their game and scored a great try through the forwards. After a sustained
period of pressure lock Peter Forrest getting the touch down under the sticks after a maul near the Jed line. Josh
Welsh duly converted closing the gap to two points.
But Jed had the last word when Goodfellow went over to score converted by by Scott, final whistle

Best for Selkirk were man of the match Callum McEwan, Ross Nixon,Peter Forrest and Ewan MacDougall.
