In the vacuum Hawick Linden stepped in to give Selkirk a game and manager Douglas Gunn was happy just to watch
his men get a run and to keep up match practice.
Gary Lyall opened the scoring for Selkirk with a penalty and there followed tries from Lindsay Carrick, Ewan Hastie
and Neil Darling before half time with three conversions from Lyall's boot to make the score at the interval 0-24.
The second half saw Linden come more into play with three tries and two conversions to make it look respectable
but further Selkirk touch-downs from Alan Jamieson, (2) and Ewan Hastie rather negated it. Lyall added another
conversion to make up Selkirk's total.
